RESOLVED 07/27/16: Can't log food from "calories in/out" tile

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit Update 07/27/16: Thanks to those who took the time to update to the latest version of the app and confirmed that you were able to log food from the "calories in/out tile" again.

For that reason, I am closing this thread and marking it as resolved. If you're still unable to log food from the "calories in/out" tile, make sure your app is updated to 2.30. If the issue persists on 2.30 or above, please create a new post and refer to this thread. Thank you!

Fitbit Update 07/26/16: I have some good news for everyone! With the latest release of the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.30 (released moments ago), you can once again log food from the "calories in/out" tile.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their reports and also for your patience as we worked to resolve this. If you could do me the favor of confirming that this has been resolved in 2.30 it would be awesome! Thanks again!

Fitbit Update 07/18/16: Users have reported that since the latest update to the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.29 they are unable to log food from the "calories in/out" tile.

I've reported this to our Product Specialist Team who is currently investigating this issue. When I hear an update from them, I will make sure to share it with everyone here.

In the meantime, in order to log food from the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.29 do the following:

  1. Click on the "calories left" tile in your Android Dashboard.

2. Click the "+" button in the top right.

Can't seem to get link to respond today when trying to add calories eaten. Link sends me to calories burned every time. Calories burned link sends me there too!

My food tracking has totally disappeared right after updating today. When I click to log food it goes to the calories burned screen? Anyone else have this issue?

I'm having the same problem as of this morning. I emailed customer service and am awaiting their response. I restarted my tracker, disabled and enabled the fitbit app and nothing has worked. Grrr

Same issue. Galaxy s4.
Food logging from the dash goes to calories.

Agree, same problem. All the other dash menus are fine, except for the food one 😕

Only happened after the latest app update.

Yep, me too.  The 'tile' on the android app which reads calories in v calories out, would normally have taken you directly to food input screen but since the latest update, this takes you to calories out lists.  Why does every android update end up breaking some other part of the app?  It's an absolute nuisance.

Same issue since yesterday 😕, calories in/calories out takes me to calories burnt. Have to use calories left which always went to the area for logging food as well anyway.

Enter food by using the Calories Left tile. My app has always used this and the Calories In vs Calories Out tile to go to the same place for inputting food

Use the Calories Left tile. This and the Calories In/ Calories Out tile have always taken me to input food. In/Out also not working for me since the update

Yes, the last app update caused this. Even if you re install the app, you still need to record calories eaten under Calories left. Don't know why Fitbit changed the app but that's what happened. Good luck!

Hi Folks.

I am trying to determine if I am going crazy at a somewhat young age - compared to Moses.

I swear that I used to go to the app option where it has nnn in/nnn out and the yellow/green/red gage to the left of that.  I would enter my food there and it would become part of the "in", of course.  Now when I select the 204 in/701 out (as an example), all I get is the same graphic of total calories for each day that I get when I go to the Caloried Burned option.  The only way I can enter my calories is through the Calories Left area with dish and the knife and fork.  I know for a fact that is *not* where I used to enter my in take.  This just changed on me about 2-3 days ago.  I did delete the app and reinstall from Play Store but it's still the same, or in this case - different.  Ideas?  Anyone else have this?

Thanks much and have a great one!

Sue!

Hi there everyone @iSlat @ANR8 @TheresaLP @jgordon! Good to see you around!

As @TheresaLP said, going to the Calories Left tile, you should see a + sign at the top right corner where you will be able to log your food from. Are you guys not seeing the + sign?

If anyone can please share a screenshot of how it looks for you, I'd appreciate that a lot!

Am I missing something here - where are these "tiles" on the Android app? That's where my issue is, not the web dashboard... Thanks!

Nevermind - I see where the tiles are now. I had that particular one hidden on my dashboard.

Good to see you around @nerdykat!

When I say "Tiles", I refer to each line for each stat on the app dashboard as you can see below:

From here, you just need to locate the "Calories left" tile and at the top right corner you will be able to log your food.

See the plus sign after you click on calories left.  Also see the scan bars where you can scan some food codes.  Actually I think they added the scan bar to the app as I never noticed that before on mine.
