RESOLVED 07/27/16: Can't log food from "calories in/out" tile

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit Update 07/27/16: Thanks to those who took the time to update to the latest version of the app and confirmed that you were able to log food from the "calories in/out tile" again.

For that reason, I am closing this thread and marking it as resolved. If you're still unable to log food from the "calories in/out" tile, make sure your app is updated to 2.30. If the issue persists on 2.30 or above, please create a new post and refer to this thread. Thank you!

Fitbit Update 07/26/16: I have some good news for everyone! With the latest release of the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.30 (released moments ago), you can once again log food from the "calories in/out" tile.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their reports and also for your patience as we worked to resolve this. If you could do me the favor of confirming that this has been resolved in 2.30 it would be awesome! Thanks again!

Fitbit Update 07/18/16: Users have reported that since the latest update to the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.29 they are unable to log food from the "calories in/out" tile.

I've reported this to our Product Specialist Team who is currently investigating this issue. When I hear an update from them, I will make sure to share it with everyone here.

In the meantime, in order to log food from the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.29 do the following:

  1. Click on the "calories left" tile in your Android Dashboard.

2. Click the "+" button in the top right.

Hello,

I have already answered this query several times. Find below a copy of my answer:

"Hello,

I have noticed that you do not input food the same as in the previous version of the app, where you would tap the cals in/out section.

You now need to click the however many calories are left in order to reach the screen with the plus in the top right corner. This is the food area.

Hopefully this should sort the issue! If it doesn't, feel free to reply to the thread and tag me so I can respond a little quicker!

Good luck!
-Josh"

Apologies, I misread your question. The app has indeed changed to allow a food option separate from calories information.

Apologies,

I see, I can use that instead, but I find it inconvenient. I don't
understand why they would remove the food logging capability from the
calories in/out tile. I don't even look at the calories remaining because
it's normally so wrong

Agree with the above. I've always had the "calories left" tile hidden, because it's just a redundant and less useful version of the "calories in, calories out" tile...which is where I always entered food.

But now the tile that displays how many calories I've consumed can't be used to enter calories I've consumed? That makes absolutely no sense.

Hi everyone -- Several of you have reported that you're unable to log food from the "calories in/out" tile on the Android app. I'm currently looking into this with our Product Specialist Team.

In the meantime, in order to log food from the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.29 do the following:

  1. Click on the "calories left" tile in your Android Dashboard.

2. Click the "+" button in the top right.

Hope this helps!

Hi. For the last several days I have been unable to enter in the calories I have consumed. Why has that changed in the app?

I figured it out. Instead of touching the calories in vs out icon, touch
the calories burned icon. They just changed where it's located without
letting us know.

@mcm1 @GSaldiveri I recommend checking out this post on occasion as this is where I will be sharing updates with everyone when I get them. You can also see the workaround for logging food from the app that i've shared there too. Hope that helps you get up-to-speed.
