RESOLVED 07/27/16: Can't log food from "calories in/out" tile

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit Update 07/27/16: Thanks to those who took the time to update to the latest version of the app and confirmed that you were able to log food from the "calories in/out tile" again.

For that reason, I am closing this thread and marking it as resolved. If you're still unable to log food from the "calories in/out" tile, make sure your app is updated to 2.30. If the issue persists on 2.30 or above, please create a new post and refer to this thread. Thank you!

Fitbit Update 07/26/16: I have some good news for everyone! With the latest release of the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.30 (released moments ago), you can once again log food from the "calories in/out" tile.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their reports and also for your patience as we worked to resolve this. If you could do me the favor of confirming that this has been resolved in 2.30 it would be awesome! Thanks again!

Fitbit Update 07/18/16: Users have reported that since the latest update to the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.29 they are unable to log food from the "calories in/out" tile.

I've reported this to our Product Specialist Team who is currently investigating this issue. When I hear an update from them, I will make sure to share it with everyone here.

In the meantime, in order to log food from the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.29 do the following:

  1. Click on the "calories left" tile in your Android Dashboard.

2. Click the "+" button in the top right.

It's all about the food! What's Cooking?

Since this morning, I've not been able to add food with the Fitbit App for Android in the usual way.

Pressing the add food link simply takes me to calories burned (the calories burned link also takes me to calories burned).

Further investigation shows that "Calories left" now takes me to where I can see what I've eaten and I can add food here.  This is a change from yesterday.

Anyone else seeing this?

As a side note, my phone updated yesterday (One Plus 3) so I'm wondering if this is because of the update.

Hi @JaySP

Have moved this thread from the Charge HR to the Android App section to increase the chance of getting a solution.

Your post will get more attention here.

Feel free to clear the fitbit app cache in the Android settings.

Hope it helps

Was yours a phone/android update, or a Fitbit App update?

Mine was a phone update..

With the update rolled out last night -- Logginig a custom meal no longer crashes the app, however it does NOT log the meal.  (Nexus 5).  PLEASE get this fixed.

I've been religiously adding my food or at least calories on the app, clicking the button that is calories in/calories out.  This morning, presumably after an update, when I click that button it pulls up the same screen as the "Calories Burned" button.  Can no longer log food on the app.

I logged breakfast on the website and synced and the calories did show on the button correctly, but still cant log anything there.

App has been closed/opened and phone has been reboot.

Any help?

I am also having this problem with the "Calorie budget" tab. Workaround is to open the "Calories left" tab.
Best Answer

I had that hidden as i don't want to see that budget lol.  But you are right, clicking that does allow me to add food.  Can use that as a work around until they (hopefully) change the in/out button back to normal.

Hi there @sbe26. Welcome to the Fitbit Community! 🙂

Are you not able to log your food at all with the latest update? Are you getting any type of error?

If so, I'd appreciate you taking a screenshot and attaching it to your reply to see what it looks like for you and that way dig more into this problem.

I'll be looking forward for your reply.

I've been trying to add my food to my fitbit app all morning, but every time I tap on the section where I always go to add food, it takes me to the calories screen instead.  I thought maybe something had changed in the app, so I just tried clicking on everything, but nothing will take me to the Add Food screen.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and still nothing.  How can I fix this?  Thank you!

Hello,

I have noticed that you do not input food the same as in the previous version of the app, where you would tap the cals in/out section.

You now need to click the however many calories are left in order to reach the screen with the plus in the top right corner. This is the food area.

Hopefully this should sort the issue! If it doesn't, feel free to reply to the thread and tag me so I can respond a little quicker!

Good luck!

-Josh
