Hey, everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update 8/16/18:

Hi everyone - The fix for this issue will be out in our next app release which you can expect within the next 2 weeks.

We will provide an update in this thread once it has been released. Thanks again for all your patience and cooperation.

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

My app is still showing 0 steps on dashboard, so have to click on it to find actuall steps. Tried uninstalling and re installing app, no difference.  Hubby has the same app and fitbit but has no issues. Anyone else have this issue?

These problems sounds like a known bug that fitbit are working on. Keep an eye on the following thread which is where they are posting updates:

Day 2  with my charge2 and Steps not showing on dashboard tile? Please help

Thanks.  Rolling back to 2.75 worked for me!  To recap, I use an "old" Fitbit One with my new Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus.  The functionality that I lost with the FB 2.76.1 app was counting steps in real-time (it is possible that some other synced data were inaccurate as others are reporting, but I haven't determined that through careful checking).  But the roll back fixes things!  I really appreciate the tip.

To the Fitbit engineers:  Please look at what was re-coded in 2.76.1 and do the detective work to identify what broke the app!  You really ought to fix something like this with a high priority and very rapidly!  I will continue to monitor this excellent thread until it's reported as fixed.  In the meantime, I've turned off auto-updating for the app.

Now day 4 of heart rate and steps not showing up on the app in real time for both me and my partner.

Only shows resting pulse and steps only change when we sync.

Day 6/7 of sleep time not working properly either.

Keeps not deducting the minutes awake from total, but when you go in to it, it's right then corrected on tile until next sync.

At the same time that all of this app dashboard nonsense started, I lost all of my friends on the app.

They are still on my dashboard and if I try to add them back it says I am already friends with them.

The problem is that the app believes I have no contacts and therefore I no longer invite anyone to a challenge.

Solution/fix:

Download the earlier version of the Android App (2.75), remove the actual App (2.76) from your phone and install the 2.75 after that. My Note8 (Android 8.0.0) worked than like it should.

What worked? And what was fixed?

An odd one that hopefully is easy to fix.

On the PC dashboard, all is correct.

On the phone dashboard, usually all is correct.

Today, the phone is syncing all information but... the step counter in the top middle of the screen still shows zero steps.

Even though when I click into the steps onto the daily steps page, it correctly shows the value for today.

Ideas?

Many thanks
