For a product such as this, software cannot be treated in isolation from hardware. Taken together, the Fitbit is a poor quality product.
What's a good quality replacement?

I am having the same problem. I haven't used my fitbit in months. Opened the app and it said there was an update so I updated. Then synced my fitbit to my Note5. It's syncing miles and floors, but no calories or steps. Funny thing though; I uninstalled an reinstalled the app, then logged in and it showed my step and calories right away, but as soon as i turned on the bluetooth and synced my blaze steps and calories dropped to zero. I have gone thru all the troubleshooting step and nothing is working.

I tried all the complex manoeuvres listed below and still to no avail... as soon as i sync'd my versa with my phone it came back with no steps, no cals and no heart rate. you must agree... not much use for a glorified step counter. designers nee to get this glitch fixed pronto

Did it stay fixed? Because mine also started working properly after uninstalling and reinstalling, but it went back to not showing steps the next morning.

See https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Fitbit-App-version-2-76-steps-calories-reverting-to-zero... for latest info.
It is a know problem with the latest Android update. Apparently it is still updating the Fitbit database as can be seen by looking at the fitbit.com dashboard, so at least the data is not getting lost.

Hi,
I hope somebody can help. My Fitbit although synchronising is not showing my steps on the dashboard. I have tried looking at the dashboard on my PC and it will not allow me to click on the 10,000 step box.
I am sure it has something to do with settings but I have no idea how to fix. I have tried installing app but this doesn't work either.
Thank you
Tina

Uninstalled the app. Made sure google play would not automatically update on my phone. Installed the previous version. ... and it works.. not ideal but will do until the gremlins are exterminated.

My samsung galaxy s8 has stopped showing numbers in the steps and calories circles on my dashboard. This just started yesterday. I have restarted both the phone and my fitbit but that did not help. I need some help!!
