Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

Hi @TNT1

Posts are merged into an existing thread, such as this one for the same problem. Your previous post was not removed, it was merged into this one. I am the one who moved it and I also moved the one you just made. It clutters the forums to have several threads begun on a single issue.

I'm sorry if this caused you alarm, but your posts are in this thread.

It makes one wonder what significant unseen by user bug 2.76 "fixed" that would make having a nonfunctional app worth it..

How did you revert to the previous version? Mine worked fine with that

After getting past the zero counts displayed on my Ionic (by changing clock
face) now I am having a very similar problem with the fitbit app on a Nexus
phone displaying counts of just recent steps (but all other counts
distance/time exercising/stairs and more are good) - that is an old phone
so fitbit introduced a serious problem recently.

@Lenovos

Google a-p-k fitbit 2.7.4.2 (remove the hyphens).

I used the a p k mirror one and downloaded.

Uninstall the app first, stop auto update on the app store.

Briefly enable install from unknown sites (one time only). Install.

You're done.

Thanks for that, all seems to be working again now. I certainly wasn't going to wait for fitbit to sort it.

Sorry but I'm not replying to anyone in particular, just making a general
comment. Don't know why anything I post is going to certain people. I'll
love the problem by not posting anymore.

Since going to Android 9 on my Samsung phone, I was able to update by removing and replacing my battery and uninstalling and reinstalling the app.  It updated once.  Then no more.  My dashboard also isn't updating.  I hope the fix comes soon!

Will this also fix text notification?  I have an alta hr and a galaxy s5 phone.  Call notification works just fine, but the text notification stopped working a couple weeks ago.  I do have it set to notify, even in silent mode and always connected.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, etc. but do not get text notifications, just phone calls.  This happened back in May as well. when call and text stopped working.

Thank you

I would agree. Customer support told me over the weekend that it would be a 3 - 4 day fix. I thought that was unacceptable for a problem they caused. 2 weeks is beyond belief. For those in the financial industry, this has to highlight the financial and business strategy challenges that Fitbit is facing. I could only image the response and publicity if this occurred on their Apple app.

To All: folks, I think we can cut Fitbit some slack. I am not an employee nor an investor, just an individual who has purchased 4 Fitbits for family members and I have been really pleased with their support for these devices in the past. Had a screen die and they shipped quickly. Even a band break and they covered that. This is a First World problem (hopefully that didn't offend anyone). I don't know of any software company that hasn't had glitches with rollouts - Microsoft has, Apple has, Evernote has, etc., etc. There is a simple fix which rolls it back and works fine. I'm sure they will learn from this. There are many more tragedies and heartaches in our world than the fact that we have been inconvenienced. Let's be grateful for the technologies that we have access to. "Count your blessings!"
