RoverVA and others having problems after update....
I live on the west coast just south of the Google Corp. I have been checking to see if Google has actually updated the version on Google Play. to check go to Google Play and search for FitBit, then if it says
"UNINSTALL & OPEN" buttons then has not been updated on Google Play (it takes a few days to a week).
This is still on our infective FitBit Staff ... the failed update of August 10 was not properly Researched and Developed (the R&D I spoke about yesterday, they obviously released it with out adequate testing prior to releasing.
Good Luck to all a my Prayers for ALL the stress delivered to us is GREAT! My new Garmin will be here on Friday .... Have you ordered yours yet ???? 🙂

I will certainly try the update if it ever shows up, but I'm not holding my breath that it will work. Past history shows their lack of professional software development.
I've narrowed it down to Vivosport, or Gear Fit2 Pro for my replacement.

I'm definitely starting to lean towards getting a Garmin myself Hal. Fitbit needs a new app developing team. There is no way they can say they test the app before releasing it to the app store.
Maybe Fitbit can stop develping new watches every couple of months and work on their software and bugs in their watches that are already out!
Stop with the money grab and fix your products! Thanks

Actually it is possible to test apps prior to release.....

and

I posted the links above not as a correction to you but more toward REMINDING Fitbit has the ability to test.... wonder if they ever heard of beta testers????

Oh I know it's possible they just don't do it. Or just not that good at it I guess.

The beta version that I have been running has had this problem also. The release u updated today did fix this, That tells me that the normal version will also fix the problem.

Well, that was worthless. Updated to version 2.77 and it didn't fix anything, especially the tracking of steps in real-time. It will sync my current (static) number of steps, but it won't continue tracking them as I walk. So back to version 2.71 (that I downloaded from A P K mirror) I go.
Update: I got hoodwinked by the link to version 2.77 in the Fitbit community post "Android app version 2.77 is now available - 8/21." The Google Play link says it's the August 21, 2018 update, but below that it says: "Current Version -- Varies with device." So while I thought I was updating to version 2.77, it actually downloaded and installed 2.76.1, which we all know has problems. You can follow below link to the newest version, but depending on your device you may or may not get version 2.77.

Lets try a direct approach:
When will the update be released in Canada?
08-22-2018 09:14
08-22-2018 09:14
08-22-2018 09:16
08-22-2018 09:16
So, I go to the Google Play Store, and the Fitbit app for Android is still 2.76.1. Where's the new version?
08-22-2018 09:19
08-22-2018 09:19
Im the same unistalled and reinstalled but nothing has updated. Also cant find the new update on google playstore
08-22-2018 09:32
08-22-2018 09:32
What's a good A P K mirror site for this download?

It depends on Google, not Fitbit. Try to delete play store cache,.
