Fitbit Update: 8/23/18

Hey, everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update: 8/21/18

Hi, Everybody!

Today, we started releasing the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. Please check the Google Play store on your phone to see if the update is available to you. We roll out Android updates progressively, so if you don't see it available to you right now it will be there soon.

Fitbit Update 8/16/18:

Hi everyone - The fix for this issue will be out in our next app release which you can expect within the next 2 weeks.

We will provide an update in this thread once it has been released. Thanks again for all your patience and cooperation.

Fitbit Update 8/13/18:

We’re aware of the issue and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. We're sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

In the meantime, please continue to view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com. Thanks for your understanding.

Fitbit Update 8/11/18Hey, everyone! Thanks for confirming that you are still experiencing this issue even now with the Fitbit app 2.76.1. Rest assured, we have escalated this issue to our team for investigation.

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

How do you delete play store cache?

You go into settings on your phone, go to apps, then find Google Playstore, Memory, then there's a button that says cache and you click it to clear it.  But I'l tell you right now, I did that, and nothing changed.  The playstore does not have an update for my device, so I'm still stuck with the dud that doesn't record my heart rate and erases my steps.

Yay! The new update on Google play fixed the bug for syncing steps. Thanks!!

It did nothing for me either, still cant sync

The 2.77 update did not solve the problem. It made it worse. Now my Versa will not sync with the Fitbit app AT ALL.

The issue appears to only affect the tile on the main dashboard in the app. If I click on the steps tile to show my daily totals.

@neyla12 that is exactly what we have been saying, and is noted I .the pink banner above.

That is just not true for everybody. If you read this thread, most users still don't seed anything when they click on the tiles or go on the web dashboard. Lies upon lies. Screenshot_20180822-122201.png

That's fixed it for me thanks 😃

@AlessFitbit, does version 2.77 fix the live HR issue? I don't want to download any updates unless it works because I still have the last functional version of the app on my phone.

@Emiloo A warm welcome to our Community! Sorry to hear that your step count isn't showing live on your app. It sounds like this is related to the issue affecting the recent app update that you can read about here. There is a fix released on the new Fitbit app so please update it as soon as you can. If this isn't the issue could you share more information and screenshots from your Fitbit app.

I look forward to your reply!

@Rich_Laue, did the update also fix the live HR issue as well as the steps?

Got the latest app update for Apple iOS and my Versa heart rate monitor still doesn't work and hasn't worked in 2 weeks. How do I get this fixed so I get what I paid for? It's really unfortunate that Fitbit can't get this watch to work correctly and with all the reviews and comments I see, I'm thinking that I just need to get either a different Fitbit or a whole different watch altogether. Too bad that you can't trade in or trade up with Fitbit

Went back to version 2.74.2 and everything works again.

I've turned off auto-update until they get their act together.

Thanks for your reply!

Attached are some quick screen shots.
I have no new updates for my app so I thought I would follow up with more
info.

It's not a big deal but a little odd.

Thanks again,

Emily (Emiloo)

I just copied the version number and got a bunch of results in Google. It seems like, according to at least one person, 2.74.2 is a battery/data hog as well though.  As well as sync issues with it. Would 2.74.1 a better option?

I don't see version 2.77 in the Google Play Store.  Since you posted this yesterday,  do you know when this new app will be available to all of us?
