Hey, everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update: 8/21/18

Hi, Everybody!

Fitbit Update 8/16/18:

Hi everyone - The fix for this issue will be out in our next app release which you can expect within the next 2 weeks.

We will provide an update in this thread once it has been released. Thanks again for all your patience and cooperation.

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

This is a known bug that fitbit are investigating. Keep an eye on the following thread which has their latest updates:

Since the last updated yesterday my steps and calories are not showing on dashboard.  It seems like lots of people are having the same problems and I have tried suggestions without success.  Steps are not accumulating on weekly target either.  Does anyone know how to revert to last update so I can solve this annoying problem please?

Yes I agree, I have also tried to disengage fit and re-engage fit as well as reloading app, however I did see feedback when I was reloading app that it is an upgrade problem, so I don't think it matters how much tinkering I do, it won't work.  Needless to say I am not wearing it today, if its not tracking what is the point.

Glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Recent upgrade has turned a relatively good piece of kit into an expensive pedometer.

The bug is only with the way it displays steps - it is tracking them ok and they can be seen ok via fitbit.com so there's no need to stop wearing it.

The only solution seems to be to go back to the previous version of the app, lots of links and advice on this thread about doing that.  It works which is all I want and I'm sure everyone on here has the ability to do that.  Apart from that it's just a waiting game and I'm fed up of waiting so have gone to the old app and happy with it.

I seem to remember that in that thread someone has posted instructions for going back to the previous version of the app.

From Fitbit CS:

Thank you for keeping in touch with us.

We’re aware of the issue and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. We're sorry for any inconvenience this has caused at the moment our engineers are still working on a concrete resolution. We want to make sure that when a resolution is rolled out, this addresses the issue totally and not have any other problems.

I am having the same problem that also started around August 19, 2018.  Sounds to me like a software upgrade on Fitbit side that has messed up android updating of steps on dashboard. I've tried all the recommended fixes in the other thread. Fitbit please put in a trouble ticket to your developers and fix!  No issues since 2015, this is the first.

I'm using app version 2.63, the same version I've been using for the last year with no problems whatsoever.

Can you imagine that? 1 whole year of problem free fitbit use!

You guys can have that too if you turn off your auto-update, and install a known good working fitbit app and leave it alone. We all know fitbit struggles tremendously to make good working apps, the trick is to hang on to one of the rare good working apps they get lucky and make.

So remember, TURN OFF THE AUTO UPDATE FEATURE IN THE PLAY STORE SETTINGS, AND FIND A FITBIT APP VERSION THAT WORKS FOR YOU AND STOP THE MADNESS 😉

You'll still get reminders to update all your apps, but you'll actually be able to choose what apps you actually need (or want) to update..... which is the way it should be. Updates aren't always a good thing 😞 And updating a good working fitbit app is NEVER a good thing.

@FrenchieGeek yes, it's a bug with the latest android app. Fitbit are already investigating and are providing updates in the main thread at https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/App-2-76-1-steps-calories-revert-to-zero-no-live-HR/td-p...

The get round for now is to use the web dashboard at fitbit.com

I am having a similar issue. Steps tile is not updating, nor is calories tile. If I click on them the count/calorie count is there. I have tried Force Stop. Count then becomes visible but only until next sync. What is next move please?

I didn't want to do it, but I reverted.  Now all of my friends showed up on my dashboard and the sync is correct again.
