Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

The steps are also not being counted correctly in my work week  challenge.

With today and yesterday's steps I would or should be up over 20 thousand steps

Thanks.  I've noticed that is the case.  Fitbit just told me to reboot the device and everything would be fine.  This does not make any difference at all,  nor does changing the watchface as suggested by another user.

My dashboard is not displaying the data any more. It does it once a day now in the middle of the night when I am not wearing it. Help please.

I connected my FitBit app with MyFitnessPal app last week.  Ever since I did this, the steps are no longer showing on the dashboard.  I've tried disconnecting FitBit from MyFitnessPal, but that did nothing.  I tried deleting the FitBit app and re-installing it, but also nothing.  If I go to the FitBit website and log in, it will show my steps on the dashboard after syncing it with my Android phone.  I have no idea if connecting the two apps is what caused this, but not even sure what to do.  Please help.  Thanks!

My FitBit One doesn't show steps or calories until it starts the next day. All day long it will show floors, and minutes of activity but steps and calories show as zero, as soon as the next day starts at midnight I can hit "previous day" and my steps and calories are now shown.

I've tried to restart my device but it did not help.

It's not a big problem but kind of frustrating, I'm just not sure if this means my device is failing (it's two years old) or if it just has some bug after the new firmware update?

The app isn't registering heartrate data in the BPM tile. I can only see my heartrate in a completed exercise. I have reset the app and watch. Please help.

My Fitbit will not display the steps all day. If I click on zero steps it will tell me the number. It will also update the display on the dashboard at the end of the day only. It is syncing the steps but not displaying the number on the dashboard. I have tried resetting

See https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Fitbit-App-version-2-76-steps-calories-reverting-to-zero... for latest info.

It is a know problem with the latest Android update.  Apparently it is still updating the Fitbit database as can be seen by looking at the fitbit.com dashboard, so at least the data is not getting lost.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Same issue here - tracking on my Blaze has broken since the last update. Extremely frustrating. I'm glad Fitbit is aware of it, but I hope they fix it fast - or roll back the update (unlikely)

Please could you let me know how you reverted yo the previous update as I am having all the issues mentioned about no steps, calories showing on dashboard and don't know how to downgrade as I am not atall technically minded!!!  Many thanks.

I've downgraded to 2.75, all is working fine now. I will stay on 2.75 until its confirmed the issue has been fixed.

I was thinking about getting a Versa. Does it have the same issue ?

UPDATE: tech on chat helped. I had to unpair the Versa, restart both it and the phone (to restart it, hold down the left button and lower right button until you see a Fitbit logo appear), reopen the app and start a sync. It's "normal" now, at least for the time being.

@Chat636 The issue is with the app, so all fitbits have the issue. I wouldn't let this display issue dissuade you, though.

It definitely does.
I don't like a product that has issues

Couldn't Fitbit re-release the last working version of the Android app so we can at least be back in operation until you can find a resolution to the problem in your latest release?  The problem is that some of us use our phone to track the steps in real-time since it is impossible to read the display on the Fitbit itself in the sunlight.  However, because of the bug(s) in the latest Android app, real-time tracking doesn't work.

they could if they had a competent software team.. its totally normal for companies to have old versions available but fitbit seems to consider itself exempt from normal software things like testing before release and having old versions available or pushing out downgrades when they really really mess things up (like this and the oh hey our app is using a GB a day of data - sucks to be you if you are on a limited plan - version)

Fitbit is now a faulty product

Best Answer

@Chat636 Fitbit has *always* been a faulty product. ALL products are faulty to some extent. Tech especially. I do have to say, though, that Fitbit is notoriously unconcerned with fixing their bugs. They'll fix this one. And the next one. There are some that they don't care about much, though. But you must have a lot of money saved up if you're not willing to buy anything that's not absolutely perfect.

Overall, I have been happy with my fitbit and the app. However, I do wish the technical team took into consideration how we use their technology so they have a "plan B" should their latest release run into trouble.  The Plan B should be to revert back to the previous version as soon as they realize there is a significant issue.

I also love my Fitbit One which they seem to no longer offer.  I don't like having something on my wrist and I think the One is more accurate.  The replacement unit they have no longer has stair tracking - that is a step backwards! I'm trying to keep my One alive as long as I can until Fitbit realizes they need to offer a replacement that is truly as good or better than the unit they are replacing!
