Fitbit Update: 8/23/18

Hey, everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update 8/16/18:

Hi everyone - The fix for this issue will be out in our next app release which you can expect within the next 2 weeks.

We will provide an update in this thread once it has been released. Thanks again for all your patience and cooperation.

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

Just updated to the latest update, and my real-time HR is still not showing up on my Android Phone app. Just shows the resting heart rate. Steps works fine.

This is more than the android app, I have apple and my fitbit watch shows 0 for everything on my watch.  I have restarted everything, logged off and back on and still nothing.  It started with my last upgrade.

Just wanted to give an update. I used customer service live chat and they helped. Everything seems to be working fine now. I'm using the ionic.

I am not a fitbit moderator or employee.  My post in this forum was a question that I asked the moderator who initially replied or posted in this forum.  I do agree however that the wait time is unacceptable.

There's no update in the Play Store. It must have gotten pulled. Still on 2.76.1

This has been too long. Starting to look at other brands. How many of you feel like it's time to move on from Fitbit?

I went to the app store but there is no update. So I uninstalled the app and reinstalled and it is still not updating for the steps in the app. Do you know when they rest of the release will be out?

Hello,

I'm a new android app user. For more then one year I've been using ios app and it was very good. From 2 weeks I had to switch to android version. Among already reported issues with no live hr and reverting to zero steps I've found a bug. I can't edit my automatic detected activities. On ios I can edit distance of biking on android it's not possible. Fields are grey.

Thank you for adding this bug to the list.

Fitbit will be sending me a new Ionic device. My current device is still under warranty. They tell me that my device has malfunctioned. Good luck ,

Yes. Extremely annoying. My Ionic worked flawlessly for 4 months and then suddenly all this craziness.  They are shipping me a new device. Good luck.

I have an iPhone 8, and now my Fitbit Versa won't sync.  I've tried reconnecting, and now it won't connect.  Does this have anything to do with the changes you made for Android?

I wonder how new purchasers must be feeling. Having to come here for support and discovering they just purchased a major rock.

Returns must be way up.

I wonder what Fitbit did to so totally screw up their installed base.

If your not seeing live data, please check the top right corner of your dashboard, your looking for the green flashing icon. This means the app is connected and should show live data.

No green icon, no live data.. I would gently move the arm up and down, this should get the tracker connected to the app.  Also check if always connected is enabled.

PS. The update fixes the issue for me.

The issue appears to only affect the tile on the main dashboard in the app. If I click on the steps tile to show my daily totals.

@neyla12 that is exactly what we have been saying, and is noted I .the pink banner above.
