Fitbit Update: 8/23/18

Hey, everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience. We really appreciate your cooperation while we released the Fitbit for Android app version 2.77. It has been fully released to everyone, so please go to the Google Play Store and download it as soon as you can!

Many of you that already updated have confirmed you see your real-time heart rate back in the Fitbit app and that your steps/calories are updating. I will leave this thread open in case anyone has any issues, but I hope you are all set after updating. Thanks for all your help!

Fitbit Update: 8/21/18

Fitbit Update 8/16/18:

Hi everyone - The fix for this issue will be out in our next app release which you can expect within the next 2 weeks.

We will provide an update in this thread once it has been released. Thanks again for all your patience and cooperation.

Fitbit Update 8/9/18: Hi everyone. Thanks for taking the time to report this issue here on the Android forum. I've passed your reports along to our engineering team so they can begin investigating. From what I've gathered, this issue is app specific and not affecting the Fitbit web dashboard (which is correctly showing all activity data as expected). To keep thing organized, I've merged several threads to this one.

I appreciate your patience and am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. In the meantime, I welcome you to continue sharing your experiences here. In the meantime, you can view your current stats on the Fitbit web dashboard by logging into your account at fitbit.com

When I hear something new, I'll be sure to update the thread with the latest info. Robot Happy

Not that I know. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it worked for a
day now it's back to 0 steps.

I actually called Fitbit yesterday and they could not have been nicer and
less helpful. They are not sure when the update will come out. But until
then, anything that works is pure luck

I don't understand.  They had a perfectly good working version, just go back to it.  Obviously Fitbit doesn't care.  I was going to buy their scale to also track BMI and body fat.  They can forget it.  I will never buy a Fitbit product again, plus I let everyone know, at the gym, what a horrible product it is and to buy any tracker but Fitbit.  I really had it with them.

Today my app started working again after 5 days of seeing absolutely nothing. Sleep, heart rate, calories, etc are back. What's ridiculous is I didn't even get the new app update. Still on 2.76.1....Should I not risk it and avoid the new update? #headache

I don't know, but I now have live data as well as the step count imeadiatly displayed for the step count durring the last sync.

My thoughts xperiance shows that the problem has been fixed.

Mine worked fine yesterday, but reverted back to nothing today. Rang customer services....Over half an hour later, turning things off, turning things on, pressing buttons, it worked...said goodbye and thank you, only to find out that it has again reverted back to sweet nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. What a disgrace this company is. You should hang your head in shame. Disgusting that it has been going on so long, and we are all fobbed off. I have bought several over the years, both for myself and children but...…………………….

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FITBIT PRODUCT AGAIN, AND SHALL TELL EVERYONE HOW BAD THIS COMPANY IS IN CARING FOR ITS CUSTOMERS, AND I SHALL DISCOURAGE THEM FROM BUYING TOO.

Hello

Sorry not what a new customer wants to see for sure ! The problem is due to a faulty update (they evidently knew the update was after beta test results - I am not sure why they decided to post the update)

This was the biggest failure in the history and it is due to greed pure and simple ... they tried to come up with new devices and could not support ... IMHO a poor corporate decision to put aside R&D and spent money on media hype!

Since you just purchased the watch I would suggest you return it immediately!!! You might look to Garmin Co ... they have been active in the GPS field for ages and have some fine fitness watches

Good Luck

Hal

@Uruguay and @Hal2k2 you might want to rethink and check Garmin First, it seems, LOL, that they also are having order blems with the Mate 10.

It seems that Garmin, like Fitbit, needs to make separate apps for different andriud phones.

Doing a search of both boards does not offer much help.

LOL re the

Huawei phones issue they make their own devices why play nice with Garmin????

Good luck with your FitBit .... btw Garmin has a working phone number to their Corp office ... FitBit still lacks the technical knowledge as to the workings of a voice mail system!!!!

Since the 2.77 update my HR monitor has been fixed but now I'm missing my data for yesterday as well as it not showing in the app my active minutes or that I did a workout. I have also worn the watch to sleep 4 nights since I got it and only the first night I got sleep data. I havent even had this for a week and I'm already thinking about returning it because of all of the bugs. The watch itself works fine but the app is never 100% which is annoying because I would like to see my stats for the day and previous days without gaps of missing data.

At this stage I'm just happy to know or what it feels like right now is it isn't my ionic watch that malfunctioning. It's the firmware. Not too sure at the moment why there other updates b/c the one I'm using right at the moment seems to be working. Thank God too b/c this is my second one after warranty and I thought it might of been a dud as well and live chat basically told me sorry about your watch not working good luck with that. Unreal!!! But I'm happy right now. Not too sure I'll ever update as long as all my stiff is working. Lol..
