Fitbit Update 06/27/2016: I am closing this thread as this issue was resolved in the Fitbit app, version 2.23.

Fitbit Update 02/19/2015: Our engineering team is still working on resolving this issue and getting you guys access to your Facebook friends. This will be resolved with an app update but no official word on when that update will be coming.

 

Thanks for your patience! Hoping to have an update with a timeline for the fix soon!


Fitbit Update 12/30/2015: Our Android Team is currently working on resolving this issue. Once I hear any updates from the team, I will make sure to share them here with everyone.

 

Thank you for providing me with details of your experience and for also attempting the troubleshooting steps below before posting:

 

  1. Make sure you have a strong, healthy internet connection.
  2. Log out of the Fitbit app, log back in.
  3. Uninstall app, reinstall.

Fitbit Update 12/16/2015: It has been brought to my attention that some users on Android are unable to view their Friends list on their Android device as they receive a "Can't connect to Fitbit" error message, as seen below.

I recommend trying these troubleshooting tips before reporting this as an issue as this may help resolve it:

  1. Make sure you have a strong, healthy internet connection.
  2. Log out of the Fitbit app, log back in.
  3. Uninstall app, reinstall.

 

This has been brought to the attention of our Product Specialist Team who is currently looking into the reports. I will make sure to provide everyone with an update here once I hear of some news surrounding this. Thank you for reporting this and for your continued patience!

Friends list is not syncing says cannot connect to fitbit.

It's great to see you here @Mtkr66. Welcome! Well, the first thing to check would be that the Fitbit app you have installed is, indeed, the latest app version available. If this is the case, try rebooting your phone and check if your friend's list shows. Have you tried any other troubleshooting steps in order to fix this issue?

HI,  my Friends list is not syncing today and it says cannot connect to fitbit. I have tried re-sincing from the computer, my android as well as restarting the phone. Everything is showing correctly on the computer and everything else appears to be working correctly in the android application. I also uninstalled the Fitbit application, downloaded it again and restarted the phone again but nothing changed.

I also just noticed that on the accont option on my phone I can see my friends but on the friends option I can not see anyone.

Hey Friday night my case was moved to engineering and it was resolved, however nothing I did as in all troubleshooting worked. Only help from fit it engineering solved my problem. Apparently it was a 'coding bug'

If you're connected to a healthy internet connection, I recommend logging out and logging back in to the Fitbit App for Android, which will initiate a sync with our server and update your Friends List to show all your buddies. Let me know if that works for you! See ya around! Robot Very Happy

I'm having the same issue. Logging out and in again does not help. Neither does uninstalling or reinstalling the app.

I'm having the same problem. Tried logging out, reinstalling, and restarting the phone. All else seems to work correctly, it just won't connect to fitbit from the friends tab.

@Mtkr66Did you try to log out and log back in and give it another try yet?

 

@Xocoreeneox@TuniI recommend unlinking your Facebook account and relinking it from the Fitbit "Applications" menu within the online Dashboard. Then try to view your friends list on the app again.

Hi. I'm also having this problem. I have logged out of the app and back in. I have restarted my phone. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I logged out of the website on my desktop and back in. I have turned off bluetooth and turned it back on. I have attempted both on my wifi (strong signal) and on my phone's data plan (also a strong signal). I have synced my fitbit charge hr several times. 

I can see my friends when i go to my profile. I cannot when I click "friends" to see their 7day step count. 

I am very new to fitbit (bought it yesterday). I can view my friends on the website with no issues. 

This is what I see when I attempt it.
