I have a somewhat weird, and unusual request...
I recently bought the Fitbit Alta HR, and I notice that I can view my heartrate in real-time inside the fitbit app on Android.
SO, my mind then immediately thought if it could be possible to extract this real-time data to a text document to use in say "Open Broadcast Software".
Since I have a Samsung device, one solution would be to share my screen with my computer, have the fitbit app open, and just capture a portion of the screen.
But if there was a way to just have the fitbit app write the Heart Rate data in real-time (or as fast as possible) to a text document, I could use that in the software.
The reason for asking, is because it would be awesome to display my Heart Rate in real-time to my viewers.
Best Regards

I don't see a way to edit my Op, anyway.
I notice that the "extraction" might be a bit confusing, what I meant however, was for the fitbit app to extract and write it to a .txt file somewhere inside the android file system, and me extracting that information having my phone hooked up to my computer through an USB cable.

I would love to know if you had any luck with this? I am looking for the exact same.

The only way to extract any HR data os to enable any exercise tracking that uses GPS and then after turning it off you cab export TCX file from the activity that contains HR data. It is a feature that once in a while somebody asks for by I don't believe it will ever get implemented. On top of that I don't understand why only GPS based activities store HR data for export. It is a dumb design.
