I run on a regular basis. I have always used a Polar watch for running as it has GPS built in. What I have noticed is the variation between Polar and Versa. My route is normally between 5 and 6 miles and there's a difference of up to half a mile between the 2 watches. Naturally the one with GPS is going to be more accurate. I don't run with my phone. Is there anyway I can adjust the stride length on the Versa to bring it closer to the Polar.. would I make my stride length longer or shorter? My wife has also noticed that on her weekly walks versa records a distance of 3.3 and Polar 3.7..
Any advice would be welcome
Thanks JD

See Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?
Fitbit distance without GPS = number of steps times stride length. If Fitbit distance is coming up short, increase stride length.
Instead of measuring stride, if have course you are sure of distance, just increase fitbit stride length by ratio.
For instance if you know you ran exactly 5 miles, but fitbit shows 4.5 miles, then multiply strdie length by (5 / 4.5).
