S.O.S Cannot download new update

I need help Fitbit Universe. . .

 

I have been making several futile attempts to update my Iconic for the last 2 days. It has been taking an extraordinarily long time to get to  80% updated and then it fails. Today I had both my fitbit and phone on charge for 10 hours and it is still not completing the update. I have tried everything. . .reseting. . .forgetting network. . .turning on/off bluetooth. . .tried to update on multiple devices. . .nothing. And now I cannot access ANY of my shortcuts.

 

I would prefer not to resort to a factory setting reset, but I don't know if that would even help.

 

Any suggestions to save my fitbit from being thrown into the ocean?
