Samsung Galaxy A50 incompatibility

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just purchased a Versa 3, and was very disappointed to learn that it is not compatible with my phone, a Samsung Galaxy A50. I upgraded from a Charge 3 in part because it was glitching and not doing what I wanted it to. Now it appears it was my phone that was the problem.

What are the chances, and by when, that fitbit will upgrade their software so that I can use your products with my phone? Otherwise I am going to return my new fitbit and go to another company. Thank you!

P.S. it is hard not to feel taken advantage of, considering I have done hours of research on these products, and have found no mention of these incompatibility issues for my phone. The only way I found out was from speaking with your help hotline folks, and that took a lot of time.

@Jacebylenga, how did you determine that your Samsung Galaxy A50 is not compatible with the Fitbit app?  Is it running Android 7.0 or newer? What happens when you open the Fitbit app on it, or use the Set Up a Device option?

I have the Samsung Galaxy A71, and have not had any comparability issues with it.

The Fitbit help hotline people told me my phone is not compatible. They alluded to a "list of incompatible phones" that is not to be found anywhere, even where it says it should be, shady.

They have simplified their list of Fitbit-compatible devices, which can be found here:

On that compatibility list, there are no Samsung phones. That should be updated and easier to find.

My Samsung Galaxy A71 5G is on that comparability list - it meets the requirement, "Android OS 7.0 or higher"

Well, that is not true for my phone. I have Android OS 10 on my Samsung Galaxy A50 and it is not fully compatible with fitbit as said by the fitbit customer service representative I spoke with.
