Hello everyone!
I have recently started using a Google Pixel Watch 2 and so far it's been a great gadget, especially useful for my daily swim sessions. However, I've noticed a persistent issue in the feature known as the 'Swimming Dashboard'. It appears that I am only able to see the current time while I am in the pool; there seems to be a lack of data detail or performance metrics.
I was under the impression that Pixel Watch 2's Swimming Dashboard offers a variety of real-time data such as lap count, distance covered, calories burned, stroke number and type, swim time, rest time, and much more. These details would be of significant help to enhance my daily swim sessions.
Does anyone know why this might be the case? Could there be some specific settings or configurations that I might be missing out on? And most importantly, could someone guide me on how to adjust these settings so I can view more than just time on my swimming dashboard while swimming?
It's worth mentioning that during other activities (such as running or cycling), I am able to get a comprehensive overview with all relevant statistics appearing on my watch's dashboard.
I really appreciate the Google Pixel community's assistance with this issue. I hope there's a solution to this that allows me to fully utilize the Pixel Watch 2's potential in this regard. Looking forward to your helpful insights and suggestions.
Thank you in advance!

@giovannitoso if you refer to real time metrics that you can see on the watch while swimming then no, no recent Fitbit (or Fitbit-ish) device offers anything else but timer. I know it was the case for Pixel Watch and haven't heard anything about changing it for PW2. If you want to track swimming then Fitbit platform is the worst choice. Lucky, it's WearOS that you have so you may look for thirdparty swim tracking apps for it (they may not be compatible with Fitbit ecosystem but not a big loss really).

Hi, @giovannitoso sadly @Triletics is correct. If you investigate Fitbit's feedback board Fitbit Community you'll see this is a heavily subscribed issue. I've certainly made the point at every opportunity and would like to think there will be developments.
My compromise is to count the lengths of the pool, I've used my average pace to work out the expected lapsed time for 20 lengths and check my count every 20th length. Yes, it's a compromise I did not want to make but it works for me, if in doubt I swim two extra lengths and try not to be too precious about "Data".
In anticipation, things will change.
Cheers

@Gr4ndp4 If you want to track your swimming with Fitbit but avoid counting laps in your head why don't you get one of those cheap finger lap counters? You wear it on your finger and it works like a clicker. Every time you swim length you click and increase the counter. There are plenty of those on Amazon and dirty cheap. I don't trust counting in my head because often I lose count. I use Garmin for swimming so it solves that problem for me but I also keep count in my head. My watch is set to vibrate every 4 lengths (100m) and sometimes I feel vibration when I don't expect it. It means I lost count (and later on charts I see that indeed it was me in wrong, not the watch). If I didn't have a better swim tracker I would go for a lap-counting clicker (I bought a set of 5 for £10 from Amazon, although for a different reason).

@giovannitoso you need to be more specific in asking questions :). I don't understand what you want to add. Do you want to add lengths afterwards? You can edit swim and modify the distance you swam in the app (although it's buggy as you have to enter either km or miles... guess Fitbit developers never tested the new app that way).
