Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact sync with Flex

Hello, I just upgraded my phone to a Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact.  After ensuring I have the latest Fitbit app on my phone, I get no pairing of my Flex.  I have even tried creating a whole new account, knowing I would lose all my data.

The device compatibility lists the standard Sony Xperia XZ2, but not the Compact.  Please help me understand what I can do to pair my Flex.

Thanks!

Hello @SunsetRunner and @Colinm39.

@Colinm39 Thanks for being around to help!

@SunsetRunner Thanks for letting us know everything that you have tried and how you are syncing your Fitbit. While it is definitely not optimal, it is a good workaround. As mentioned in this thread, our team is aware of a situation with Android 9 and it is being looked into. As soon as we have any updates we'll be sharing them on this thread.

Feel free to reach out if there are any other questions.

@SunsetRunnerLooking at the specs, the features Fitbit require are the same.. See this link

Have you been able to install App 2.82, released yesterday..

I have the Sony XA2 and that works but a subtlety I noticed, is, that when I try to sync via Fitbit Connect on the computer I have to have the phone switched off... Result... Immediate sync..

Also I had trouble pairing because I had accidentally left the Bluetooth on my wife's Windows 10 computer and also a link on her iPad... That's when I was having trouble updating my Ionic.. I removed those and have had no issues over the last couple of months..

Another quirk.. I have to restart my Ionic occasionally to have it sync on the phone and or the PC.

@SunsetRunnerI notice your phone can be upgraded to Android 9... If already upgraded this link has Fitbit aware of some issues..

Yes, it is Android 9, so this must be it. That helps. And also thank you
for mentioning that the app updated yesterday to version 2.82. I wouldn't
have thought to reinstall it so soon since I just got the phone this week.
Thanks so much!

@SunsetRunnerThanks for the quick acknowledgement... Depending on where you are, this link may let you email Support to get clarification.. In US I think that option is only there after hours..

At least your Fitbit will keep storing the data for 30 days, 7 days minute to minute and a further 23 days of daily stats..

Don't let the Flex drop the charge..  Can you sync via your PC with Fitbit Connect in the interim..? That will check if syncing is OK from the server to your phone..

I reinstalled the Fitbit app to my old phone (which I won't update to
Android 9) and I can sync that over wi-fi. Not too convenient since I won't
always have that phone with me, but at least I can keep my records.

@SunsetRunnerThat's great positive news.. I would keep an eye on the posts about Android 9... Or, try the earlier link to see if you get an option to email..

That keeps it all documented.

@SteveHThanks for the link about Android 9.. @SunsetRunner Has one of the latest Sony phones, the XZ2 Compact. Fitbit's compatibility list shows the XZ2 which has the same specs.. A plus for Fitbit having a 2018 phone on the list...
