Step count changes automatically

Step count on the app accurate then automatically doubles then go off app go back on and it goes back to accurate. Also does the same on the Fitbit on wrist.

On the day I actually do the steps, the count is correct. But previous day's are all changed to far less than I actually did.

So like yesterday I actually did 9,667 and it said that last night.

Today when I look at "yesterday" it says 1,308.

I've synced several times but no change.

I have a similar problem. My Inspire 3 will give me a step count when I look, then a  second or 2 later, it will update my total with an additional hundred to five hundred steps, which is nice if it is real. This started two to three weeks ago. I've checked for updates.
