Step count reduced on Fitbit app and doesn't match pixel 2 watch

My step count in fitbit app went down a few days ago suddenly and doesn't match with the count on my pixel 2 watch. Pixel 2 Watch always shows right steps, but app on the phone shows fewer steps. For example, I had 17k steps on the watch and app shows only 9k steps even after multiple syncs. Also, it is showing significantly reduced step count (6k-7k per day) for previous days/months in the app now compared to what I was seeing in the app itself a few days ago. I am not sure what was changed 4 days ago and if it's excluding steps from activities. It was surprising to see that it adjusted step count for previous months as well. This all started 4 days ago. I have reinstalled the app, restarted watch, re-linked device. But the issue is not resolved.

Same issue here. The app is anywhere from 200 to 500 steps behind the watch. Force syncing does nothing. The phone app stats make it to the weekly statistics, so feels like insult to injury to see the app saying I missed my weekly goals when I worked hard not to.

Has there been a fix to the step count discrepancy?

My Pixel Watch is tracking properly but the FitBit app is not.  The app is anywhere from 500 to 3000 less steps a day.  Everything else looks to be taking correctly.

I am just coming back from a broken ankle and working hard to get back to my old self.  I'm finding this so disappointing and frustrating that my progress is not being tracked properly.

I have been dealing with the same issue for months.  It is very frustrating because I utilize the app to track my activities.  Hope it gets resolved.

Hello @sacdec & @JoseFreshCoast

Thank you for letting us know that you're still seeing the step count discrepancy between your Pixel Watch & the Fitbit app. This issue has been recently escalated to the appropriate team and they are working on fixing the problem.

New to the Community and looking for answer to why my Fitbit App on my Android (which is the most current version) suddenly lost over 70,000 steps on the app. The Dashboard shows the correct number of steps and miles but the Fitbit app on my Android just lost those steps this week. I do not see any blank data on my Monthly results so not sure where to find the discrepancy. Ready to start a new Insurance plan that provides credits for fitness activities and now I may not qualify since my step count dropped below 10,000 average for the year. What to fix on my part or when will a fix be available.

Hello @Froggy1949

There's been an on-going issue on the Fitbit side that affects our ability to see all our historical data, especially step and workout data. The team is aware of the issue and has been working on a fix. However, I haven't seen a timeline for the fix.

At this point, there isn't any troubleshooting we can recommend since the issue is on the Fitbit side.
