Step tracker very inaccurate

I don't expect my step count to be totally accurate but I have suspected a problem for a while now and today I got confirmation. My girlfriend and I both have fitbit charge hrs today we got up and decided to go for a walk. So we went to a measured course and walked 5 miles. Her fitbit showed 10000 steps, her phone logged 10000 steps, my phone logged 10000 steps, but my fitbit logged 7400. Now 9500 would have been disappointing but acceptable, but I lost a mile and a quarter.

Hello there, @Lilslice1034! Thanks for joining the Community! Heart Keep in mind that your tracker and the dashboard calculates your distance based on your personal information, like height, weight and most importantly the stride length. You can take a look at this post for instruction on how to measure your stride!

So please make sure to have this settings updated to get more accurate information and let me know how it goes! Cat TongueCat Very Happy

So far, I am averaging 1500 to 2500 lost steps per day fitbit versus pedometer on sock. Very disappointing.  I try never to tie up the arm wearing the fitbit, but the least loss of steps in a day was 500. Fitbit is a neat device, but not a good step counter. Also, you have to continually be aware of not allowing your fitbit arm to be immobilized,  ie. carrying things, etc.
