Strava app not syncing on Ionic

The strava app on my Ionic is not updating with new activity, despite activity recorded on the Ionic syncing with Strava seamlessly, and showing up in both accounts. Both apps/accounts (Fitbit and Strava) on my phone are authorised to 'talk' to the other, so it isn't that.

This is only that the watch app is not updating.  Activity IS gps tracked.  Why does it not update?

For the record it has updated in the past, most recently yesterday, but it appears entirely random and without reason, and no amount of syncing the watch changes the situation.

Any ideas?

Hi @SimonRM. Welcome to the Community.

Thanks for letting me know that the Strava app on your Ionic isn't working well, as well for verifying the connection between both accounts. This shouldn't be happening, for this reason please verify if the Strava app is updated in your watch by doing the following:

1. Plug the Ionic into the charging cable making sure its nearby your phone.
2. Open the Fitbit app, tap on your profile's picture > Ionic image.
3. Tap Apps.
4. If an app has a pending update, you'll see a pink Update button next to its name. Tap it to update the app.

If the Strava app is already updated, let me recommend you to remove the Strava app from the App Gallery, and add it back. This way we can refresh the connection between these two apps.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Hi,
I've been away so wasn't able to action this straightaway, but have now
done so.
No change in the exercises shown in the watch app as yet, but I'll record a
new one and let you know what happens.

No change initially, but I'm not sure the watch synced between removing the app from the watch and reinstating it, so I've done it again.  I now can't get the watch to connect to strava at all:- both accounts are linked to the other, but the watch says "Link account: Go to Strava settings on your Fitbit mobile app to log in."

I have, and it is Authorised, and all permissions active.

What gives?

By the way, by what medium do exercises transfer from Strava account to strava app on Ionic watch?  Wifi or bluetooth?

An update: no change in what the app on the watch shows - still asking me to login on the phone app.  However, have recorded an activity on the watch this morning that has transferred to my Strava account, just like it should.  From this I deduce that the background strava/fitbit account linkages are in place and working; the Strava app on the Ionic is not working, or not updating what it displays.

Exact same issue here as well. Have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, same issue. Not sure what else to do?!?
