Surge - Android S5 stopped receiving texts and calls

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Samsung S5.  The Surge is not receiving notifications of calls or texts.  After going on-line and following the instructions for the trouble shooting for about an hour, I called customer service.  After 37 min on the line with them, they could not solve the problem.  I must note that the customer service did do everything possible to get the Surge to receive notifications (reloaded everything, adjusted/checked all notification panels, etc).  Still having the same problem.  I spent another hour today with no success.

It is syncing the step/sleep/workout data fine, just no text/call notifications.  Not sure if the root of the problem is the Surge or the S5.

Hello @Piquet, welcome aboard to our community m friend. It seems you have tried everything to fix this issue. I know about a glitch affecting call notifications in some device models of specific brands. But the issue you describe does not sound it might be related to this. Are you able to see the option to enable call notifications, or is it giving you any type of error? With some devices the minimum OS required is Android 4.3 for Call/text notification for most supported devices. Some devices require Android 5.0+ for this to work.

Let me know how it goes. I'll be around.

The OS for my Samsung S5 is “Android version 5.0”.

I’ve enabled the call notifications (under the tab “Notification Access” and no type of error was given. I verified this with cust service.

Under the tab “Application Notifications”, the FitBit app is not blocked and set as priority.

The “Do Not Disturb” function is off.

On the Surge, the Notifications is on, the Bluetooth is working and syncing properly with activity data.

What else is there to do?
