Swim distance problems

I tried using my fitbit Charge 5 for a swim workout.  I swim in a 50 meter pool.  It assumed I was in a 25 yard pool and showed my distance as half of what it was.  So I manually log in my pool workouts as I can't figure out how to switch pool length settings in the app.  But when I log my swim in, it changes the distance when it saves.  For example, today I swam 3250 meters, but when I save it, it changes my distance to 2972 meters.

How do we get this to save the workout with my logged distance and not alter it?

Hi, @martyMSU welcome to the community. May I suggest you try deleting the original swim and then re-enter the exercise? Before you re-enter the exercise set the pool length to 50 metres on your charge 5 & sync the Fitbit app. I've noticed a discrepancy in the past when editing swims but this seems to have settled now. Do check to ensure you have updated your Fitbit app & Charge 5.

I hope this helps, let us know how you get on by posting here again.

hi, I have an android phone and an Inspire 3 that arrived today. I had swam previously so wanted to add it into my app manually, but like above, its changed my distance. It is very frustrating!

When I delete the original swim and re-enter the exercise it changes the distance.  I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled, I have factory reset the Charge 5.  This hasn't had any effect on the app changing my swim distances when I add them in manually.

I can't find any place to change the pool length to 50m.  In the support page it says to navigate in the app to the Today tab, tap on my profile picture, go to settings, tap advanced settings...and there's where I get stuck.  I don't see an advanced settings option.

Hi, @martyMSU welcome, to set the pool length go to "Exercises" on your Charge 5>swim>touch swim>see the little chevron under the "Start" arrow>swipe up past goal & always on to pool length & units to set as you require (note you slide your finger up & down the pool length to access different lengths & toggle to change between metres & yards) swipe right to return to the clock face.

I hope this helps.

Hi, @HannahJaneHx, thanks for your feedback, I find the number of lengths registered to be unpredictable and have escalated the issue. There's no indication when this will be resolved.

This is an example, originally It recorded 3,775 metres (151 lengths x 25 metres) I edited the distance to 3,750 metres and it automatically changed the number of lengths to 140 when of course it should be 150. That aside the record remains broadly accurate.

To Manually log a swim touch the floating "+" in the bottom right corner of the "Today" screen of the Fitbit app on your phone>activity>swim>adjust the date if needed, start time & duration and enter the distance (in my case metres) then SAVE.

If the data is not correct please post here again with details.
