Hi,
just like every one who use android, I got difficulties to sync my surge with fitbit app for android.
Try to find why happen only with android, but IOS does have any issue about that, but no solution found and any possible and good suggestion from bitfit.
I give up and try to sync with my computer, it fast and convenience.
I know that FITBIT know such problem but does try to solve it and let it be like that, super disappointment but can not do anything else.

Same problem. My Charge 2 was working fine for months with my Android phone then suddenly decided it wasn't going to work.
I contacted Fitbit who gave me lots of things to try but it now appears that my actual phone is not a compatible device. There seems to be a few on this list of non compatible devices and until they sort out their software I'm also stuck with updating on my computer. I can't update whilst out and about nor do I receive notifications of texts etc that I used to get. Annoying.
