Sync problems in app when multiple devices registered

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have sync problems in the app when I have my Versa and Charge HR registered to my account.

I use my Versa when walking, swimming or low risk activities and my old Charge HR when playing football, tennis or badminton.

The problem occurs when I try to sync the device I am currently wearing to my Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

The app attempts to sync both devices at the same time and spends ages looking for the device that is not present. This means it is almost impossible to get real time results on the phone.

FITBIT APP NEEDS TO BE MODIFIED SO THAT WE CAN SPECIFY THE DEVICE IN USE.

(My current workaround is to remove the device that is not in use and add it back to the app when I next want to use it. This can be several times a day. NOT VERY USER FRIENDLY)

UPDATE :- I have the same problem syncing using my HP Win 10 computer, Galaxy Tab A tablet or my wife's Galaxy S5 mini.

Hi @Fred_Bloggs, thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community! My apologies for the late response and thank you for bringing this issue to my attention.

Our team has received similar reports of having difficulties to sync when there is another Fitbit devices paired to the account. A recommendation in this scenarios is either as you already did, by removing the other device or toggle the Bluetooth option.

I appreciate the feedback regarding the Fitbit app. If this is something in which you're interested, I would like to share with you the following feature suggestion: Ability to control which tracker syncs when using multiple trackers. Feel free to contribute with your vote and comments, it would be nice to have your support for this ideas.

Now about your recent note, if this is related only to syncing issues, you can try these suggestion too: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

See you later and rest assured we are working to improve the Fitbit experience.

Thanks for response RobertoFitbit. I have now voted in the link you posted.

Re. your suggestion to toggle Bluetooth, this just restarts the process of trying to link to both the trackers including the one which is out of range or switched off.

I currently am using the work around of deleting the unused tracker after syncing it and then going through the full reinstall of the tracker I intend using. As I do this several times a day it is not an elegant solution

@Fred_Bloggs I have my Ionic and One as concurrent devices and I found when I set the One as NOT always connected I had control over the syncing.

If my One had significantly more steps I turn off the Ionic and sync the One via the phone Dashboard. Typically after using the shopping trolley, Then I turn the Ionic on and sync it. I tend to wait a couple of minutes before I do that because rarely the Ionic has overwritten the steps gained by the One..

I have never had to unassign a Fitbit using this method.
