Synced on Fitbit app on my G4, all data on Alta went to 0 for the day

I haven't worn my Alta in a while due to illness that had me stationary. Today I put it on (fully charged) to get an idea of how many steps I'm taking, so I can slowly work my strength up.  I know I had over 300 steps last time I looked.  I just manually synced  (both blue tooth and location turned on) in the official Fitbit app on my LG G4, and the app said 0 everything.  Then I looked on my wrist and my Alta also says 0 everything.  I checked my dashboard on the computer and it says the same.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the app & logged in and out on computer- no change.  Very upsetting.  I assume I can't retrieve the data, but is there a way for me to make sure this doesn't happen everytime I sync in the app?  Had been using Alta for several months prior, same phone, no issues.  Am running Android 6.0 and most recent version of Fitbit app, no 3rd party involved.  Side note- it didn't vibrate to prompt me to move either.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @ilovehostile17!

Let me help you out, try doing the restart 2 or 3 times in a row and keep and eye on it this will refresh the internal logs of your tracker and will help to improve the steps accuracy, just make sure to follow the instructions that @CindyFitbit shared, in order to recover your lost data follow the instructions below:

  1. On the Fitbit app dashboard tap the Exercise tile to open your exercise history. This is the tile that says "Track exercise" if you haven't worked out today. If you've already worked out, you'll see the exercise category on the tile instead (for example, Run or Hike).
  2. Tap the stopwatch icon in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Log Previous.
  4. Adjust the activity details and tap Log It.

Let me know how it goes!
