Syncing Fitbit through app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have an Inspire 2 Fitbit and recently added the app. It told me I was successful in doing so. However, I am unable to sync my device ever since I added this app. It tells me I need Bluetooth pairing and linking and it's taking longer than usual and to be patient. But it has been hours and hours. When I go to Bluetooth, it tells me I need the app, which I have. The Inspire 2 is visible, but when I try to pair it, it says it can't connect and to be sure my device is on. Well, yes, it's on. Ugh, much frustration.

I know eventually using the app will be the only choice which is why I went ahead and did that. But I am afraid that I'm never going to be able to sync this device and I'll be unable to use it properly in tracking data.

Hi, @LKTaylor, welcome, to get the best from your Fitbit (Inspire 2) you need the Fitbit app, they were designed that way. If you have loaded the app but have been unable to pair your Inspire 2 with it I recommend you delete the Fitbit app from your phone (I assume it's an Android phone as you post here) Go to your phone settings, apps>Fitbit>clear the cache & storage>force stop>uninstall>go to connected devices forget your Inspire 2>restart your phone. Go to your Inspire 2 and factory reset it as demonstrated in this Video (note you will lose all your data on your Inspire 3. If this concerns you try just "restarting" your Inspire 2 as demonstrated in this Video )Now start at the beginning to set up & pair your Inspire 2 with your phone as demonstrated in this Video (note this was made when the Inspire 2 was new in the world and the Fitbit app has changed since)

If you continue to have a syncing issue you may find this article of interest Why won't my Fitbit device sync? - Fitbit Help Center

As you are just setting up the app for the first time you may not be aware you can only do this with a Google account, What should I know about moving Fitbit to my Google Account? - Fitbit Help Center explains.

I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again with details of any progress you have made.

Cheers

I guess it just needed more time! I was doing this with a Google account
and through the Fitbit app. I decided to try it one more time before I
deleted the app and started over again. When I went on, it was all there
with syncing abilities, etc.

Thanks so much for your help. Laura T
