A very warm welcome to the Forums @Annie27!
I suggest that we try to erase the connection between your S7 and your Fitbit and then try to set notifications again. To erase the connection, please do the following:
1. Go into your S7's settings.
2. Look for the Bluetooth section and then access it.
3. Look for your Fitbit on the list of Bluetooth devices and erase it.
After you do that, set the notifications again. They should start coming in.
If that is not the case, I'd like to ask you some questions to take a closer look. Are you keeping your S7's Bluetooth on at all times? Are there any other Bluetooth devices connected to your phone? What Fitbit is it the one that you have, Charge 2 or Flex 2? Is anything happening at all when you get a call or text?
Look forward to helping you get this resolved.

A very warm welcome to the Forums @Tanyastam!
You mentioned that you had a different tracker before. Which tracker was it? Did you have notifications working with it? If so, it could be that your previous tracker interfered with the connection between your Charge 2 and your S6 Edge Plus.
If your previous tracker was not capable of notifications, have you tried restarting your Charge 2 and the following the steps I mentioned above? I'd say that we do that in order to be sure. To restart your Charge 2 follow these steps:
1. Start charging your Fitbit.
2. Press the button on your charging (the one on the end that connects with the computer) cable three times within eight seconds, make a very brief pause between each press.
3. Eight seconds after the first button press, you'll see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This means the tracker is restarting.
4. After you see the logo you can unplug your tracker from the charging cable.
Now follow the steps above, the notifications should hopefully start working.
Keep me posted on how it goes!
