Unable to complete setup process with Ionic and Note 8

I was having trouble syncing my Fitbit Ionic with my Galaxy Note 8. I removed it and then tried to add it back. I would get to the place where you put the validation numbers from the phone in and then it just keeps trying to connect. Just keeps timing out. I keep doing a retry with no success. Any advice on how to fix this would be great.
