Unable to see phone contacts on Samsung J3

Hi there, I was given a charge 2 for Christmas but my phone contacts aren't syncing to the app.  I can see my Facebook contacts and email addresses but nothing else, any help would be much appreciated,  thanks in advance.

Hi there @Nasseem, welcome aboard to the Fitbit Community. It is nice to see you are now part of the Fitbit family too. In this scenario there could be different reasons why you are not able to see you contacts.

 

If you're using Android Marshmallow, make sure you grant the Fitbit app access to the requested features of your phone. If you deny the Fitbit app access to a phone feature, you can go into your device settings later and grant permission. Though each device is different, on many Android devices you can do this by tapping Settings > Apps > Fitbit > Permissions

 

The other reason is that you need to have store in your phone the contact email address used in Fitbit. If your friends are using a different domain or a different address that is not registered in their Fitbit account, it is possible you don't see this contact.

Hi there, I've checked my settings and added it as a trusted device, have also reinstalled the app and still nothing.  I can see Facebook contacts and email contacts, is the J3 compatible as I'm finding this very frustrating:(

Hello @Nasseem, thank you for let me know these details and my apologies for my absent during the new year holiday. I'm wondering how it goes so far since our last conversation? Also I would like to confirm with you if the contacts you are not able to see are already added as friends or are you trying to send invitations to new friends? Keep in mind, as I mentioned in my previous response that the contacts need be saved in your phone with an email address registered with Fitbit.

 

Now, if the issue persists perhaps the following troubleshooting step may give you some extra help:

 

Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.
