Hello @SunsetRunner  thanks for bringing this to my attention, it's nice to see you again participating in our Community Forums. Let me give you a hand with your Charge 2.

Let me share with you that the Samsung Galaxy A70 is not currently listed on our list of support devices with our products and services, therefore, you may experience certain connection difficulties. I know that certain users were able to use incompatible mobile devices to sync their Fitbits, however, we cannot ensure a proper function of all the features due to this connection difficulties. Even though your Samsung A70 is not compatible, let give it a try to our help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.

If by any chance you're unable to setup your Charge 2 after taking in consideration all the information and details from the help article previously provided, I recommend you to use a compatible device and keep me posted.

Looking forward to your reply, let me know if you have any additional questions.

Can this be updated? Bit useless having a Fitbit that doesn't connect to your mobile? For the price you pay for these things you would expect then to sync with all Android devices! Please advise...

I've just upgraded my phone to a A70 as well and it doesn't sync. it's a shame it looks as if I'll stop using fitbit from now on

I am very disappointed. I bought a fitbit charge 2 but can not connect with my Samsung Galaxy A 70. I am reading here that it is not compatible with my new phone.

Can there be done an upgrade or something by fitbit? Or is the only solution bring my fitbit back and choose an other tracker?

Hi,

I'm having the same issue but seems nobody wants to do anything about it!  It should be pretty simple to do, Fitbits aren't cheap but become useless when they can't even sync with your mobile which is pretty much brand new to the market!

Please try and sort this, it's no good and very frustrating!  Pointless having a Fitbit if it can't even sync to a new to the market mobile!

Hello @LeighMcD it's nice to see you again participating, thanks for your reply and update. Welcome aboard @Tharis. My apologies for the delay in responding.

@LeighMcD Thanks for the feedback that was submitted in both of your posts, as per previously stated, Fitbit is always working and testing new and recent mobile devices to make sure that they're compatible with our products and services, however, thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.

@Tharis Note that even though you're able to sync your Fitbit device, as per mentioned on my previous post, we cannot ensure a proper function of all the features due to this compatibility concern. Even though your Samsung A70 is not compatible, let give it a try to our help article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone and let me know how it goes.

I was having the same problem when I updated my wife's phone from an A5 to an A 70.  Here is what worked for  me;

1. I reset the fitbit by hooking it to the charger and pushing the button for 10 seconds

2. I reconnected to the A5 and downloaded the latest update to the fit bit. (This seems to be the important bit since everything else failed)

3. Uninstalled the fitbit app on the A70 (settings> apps> fitbit> uninstall)

4. Rebooted A70

5. Reinstalled fitbit app on A70

6. I logged into fitbit app and it recognized the fitbit automatically.

I don't know which steps are not necessary, but this worked for me.  Keep in mind that I had already deleted the charge2 from my account in a previous attempt so I had to set up from the beginning on the A5.  I don't know how out of date the charge2 firmware was when I started, I doubt my wife ever updated it.

Hope this helps

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I don't have my old A5. Most things work on
my fit but just not the message and phone calls notifications.

Hi @RicardoFitbit, I have tried all the above and yes the steps sync to my phone but notifications still won't work.

Also I was wondering if anyone had managed to get the exercise tracking/gps working?

Also I get this annoying thing saying on the phone saying it can't connect to my fitbit every now and then. It is so intrusive that I have had to stop using my charge 2 and let it completely run our of battery... until this works again... it will remain uncharged...

Hi, My dad had the same problem trying to sync the charge 2 to his Samsung A70.

I wouldn't connect or update.

He resolved the issue by reconnecting the charge 2 to his old Samsung S5 and did all the relevant updates. Once the charge 2 was fully up to date with Updates he uninstalled from the Samsung S5 and re-installed onto his Samsung A70.

Which has worked, hes got tall the apps and features. I hope this helps.

I also have the A70 and I've found it won't update my tracker at all. It syncs but it won't update and therefore I'm having to charge my HR2 every other day. Which is very frustrating. I hope you sort this out asap.
