I had no problem with my Fitbit Charge 2 synching to my Android Samsung Galaxy J7, despite this model not being on the supported devices list. Then I replaced my old Charge 2 with a new Charge 2. When I try to pair it with my phone, it sends the 4-digit code to my Fitbit, but the pairing fails after that.

The way I got my Samsung Galaxy J7 to pair/synch with my Charge 2 was:
1. I installed Fitbit Connect app on my Mac computer
2. I synched my fibit to my Mac using Fitbit Connect app
3. Magically after this, my Charge 2 showed up as a device on my Samsung Galaxy J7.
Nothing else worked, so maybe the trick is to set it up on a computer first, whether that's a Mac or Windows PC, then try setting it up on your phone afterwards.

Hi @j7user, welcome to the Community Forums!
I appreciate the information and details that were shared in your post, seems odd that you're unable to setup your new Charge 2 with your Samsung Galaxy J7. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check all the information that's specified on: How do I set up my Fitbit device? to check if all the requirements are correctly configured to setup your device.
Then, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes.
I'll be around if you need anything else, please keep me posted.

Thanks, I already went through those steps to no avail, but I will try the other posters suggestion of trying different older Fitbit app versions to see if that works.
