Using fitbit app with my 6p

I previously used fitbit to track my activity, but currently don't have an activity tracker. I have a nexus 6p, and would like to use it as my tracker. But, because I already have an account I can't seem set up the app without an activity tracker. Is there something I'm missing?could some help guide me through the process?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @mattmanne ! I've checked the list of our supported devices and it seems that the Nexus 6P is not included yet, just the regular Nexus 6. 

Even if you don't have a tracker you should be able to use the Fitbit app with a compatible device, but I don't know if you have any other phone that can be included in the list? If so, you can set up MobileTrack in order to record your data without a Fitbit tracker.

Thank you for your quick feedback. I saw a number of sites report that it
was compatible with the 6p, but those weren't official fitbit sites. Sorry
