Versa 4 recording sleep data even when not being worn

I didn't wear my Versa 4 for a period of time yet the app still recorded sleep data (amongst other things). I understand that as my phone is linked, it will have picked up steps from that but sleep data?? Suggests an error to me! Any advice?

Hello @NatalieApp and welcome to the Community.  You aren't the only user who has described this.  I have a theory about it.  When you take your Fitbit off, the green LEDs are supposed to turn off.  If the band ends still overlap, the signal gets bounced back and is interpreted as a fake heart rate.  Total and complete artifact.  Your Fitbit (wrist) isn't moving, but it is getting a (fake) heart rate, so it interprets it that you are asleep.  I have taken my Fitbit off and overlapped the bands and I have seen the LEDs stay on.  Just make sure the LEDs turn off if you aren't wearing it.
