Welcome to the Forums @Sportyt2.

Let me help you figure out what is going on with your Samsung phone.

In this case I'd like to ask what type of update was it? Was it an update for the Android version? Please do confirm what Android version is it that you are running.

In the meantime please do try to follow the steps listed in this help article. They should help in getting it all to sync and work correctly.

Let me know if there are any further questions.

Welcome to the Forums @Danny123456.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Thanks for bringing this up.

I'd like to ask if you have gotten some sort of error message and if so, what does it say? In the meantime please try to run the set up as if it was a brand new device. That should help so that it starts syncing correctly.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I reset my versa. And it worked briefly, but now its once again not syncing. I read in the forum that there is a problem with the android 9 update? My phone just updated to the android 9. Is that what's going on with my tracker?

Hello @Sportyt2.

Thanks for sharing those details on the situation.

As you mentioned there is a known syncing issue with Android 9. We do some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for ayou on Android Pie to try.

First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.

Then, disable battery limitations:

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Fitbit app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization
  2. Change view to All apps
  3. Search for Fitbit app
  4. Choose Not optimized

Keep me posted on how it goes or if there are any other questions on the matter.

This fix you have suggested does NOT work at all. Also, I have a Galaxy S8+ and many of the clock face apps do not work. I just called customer service and was told that even if I down grade to the Charge 3, that may also have the same issue of not syncing. The Versa has now started counting steps when I'm riding in my car or on my riding lawnmower.

Is this all due to the Android 9.0 update or is this because the Fitbit versa is not compatible with my Galaxy S8+( although your site says it is)?

I'm hoping I'll get a direct answer here. When I call in, the people never seem to know what's actually going on. I've gotten more information by read these forums. Thanks for your help.

My cat actually hit the accept as a solution button. My Fitbit still
doesn't work either. I'm still in contact with Fitbit tech support looking
for solutions. I assume it's due to the new software update for my android
because my tracker was working fine until then. Btw I'm a consumer as well
and do not work for Fitbit. Take your complaints to them as I have.

Best of luck.

Hello @Sportyt2 and @blueisis02.

Thank you both for taking the time to try the steps I recommended and letting me know that they didn't work.

As it has been mentioned, our support team is aware of this situation with Android 9 and it is being looked into. We do not have any updates at this time but we will be sure to let everyone know about it.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.
