Voice Assistant App not showing

During the initial setup, I had the option of enabling the voice assistant (Google Assistant and Alexa were showing).  Neither of them could be activated as it said I was not in a country where it was supported. This is strange as I'm in the US and all local settings are set to US/English etc. I decided to hold off troubleshooting the issue for later, but now the voice assistant option is no longer present.... I have factory reset the device, deleted and reinstalled the app, did the "replace device" option in the app.

any suggestions are welcome!

@FreLardian Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting performed prior to posting.

It's odd what you're experiencing. I like you to confirm that you have one of the following Fitbit devices: Fitbit Sense, Fitbit Versa 3, and Fitbit Versa 3. If you do then ensure your Fitbit device is linked to your account, this to ensure all the features available are displayed.

Additionally, make sure this procedure has been followed to set up either Google Assistant or Alexa. May I know which phone model and OS do you have?

Hope this helps.

I have a Sense.  Phone is Samsung 10e running Android 11. Phone is not rooted. Fitbit is linked.  The procedure to activate the assistant doesn't work as the voice assistant tile is not showing in the app.  I even tried with a new Fitbit account after factory reset the device and clean install of the app. Same issue.

Hi @FreLardian the only thing I can think of is a language setting somewhere. Samsung system language settings: your preferred language must be on top of the list. Google Apps Settings, to communicate with the assistant, again, preferred language on top. You have "speech", (mic icon), primary language on top.

In Fitbit app: Today page -> Profile -> App Settings: Automatic time zone "off", Automatic place "off"

One more thing, which I learned the hard way. "Norge" (Norway) was listed twice in the app for some stupid reason. I didn't notice. If I had noticed, I would have assumed both would work. I had to do it all over again. Be sure it doesn't list Both US and YSA, or US / America...

All language settings are correct. I had tried setting time zone to manual but that didn't work.  The weird thing is that during initial setup the tile was there but I got the error the service was not available, after that the tile disappeared.

I decided to return the Sense and get a Garmin.

So this afternoon the voice assistant app tile appeared again, and I was able to configure without issue. No changes were made so not sure what triggered the reappearance of the tile.

Had not yet boxed up the Sense so will give it another few days and see if the tile doesn't disappear again.
