Weight data history and trends not available after 4.30

ANSWERED

With the installation of this new update, why is all history being either deleted or not displayed? For example I am a 9-year Fitbit member and my weight data is no longer available prior to the last 2 years. I enjoy looking at trends seeing where I've been and where I am at. But this information is no longer displayed when changing time ranges.

Do you have any updates, @LizzyFitbit?

Best Answer

On another thread I found trendweight.com which displays all my fitbit history (from the past 12 years) nicely. Better than the old web dashboard. It appears all the data is still there which is a relief.

I just tried this and it's only bringing over the last 4 weeks. Maybe it takes a while to update, but that seems unlikely.

I tried this too and it said it only imports from the start date. And my account was only created today.

You can actually change the start date in settings.

I did that, and I changed it a few times and did notice that the calculated weight changes (up or down) will change depending on the start date, so it has all the information to track, but it will only display the last 4 weeks in list format, which is really the only thing I care about.

I don't have any weighins for last year, I'm looking for the last 10. Is there an option to go that far back?

Or better would be is if there is a plan on Fitbit fixing this.

I can't believe it worked, but it did! Thank you!

Hi everybody! I appreciate your reports regarding your Weight data history and trends not being available.

Could you please let me know if you're still experiencing the issue in order to continue investigating?

Thank you for your time and patience.

Hi @AndreaFitbit ,

This is definitely still happening. I have been logging since 2013 but can only currently access my data from October 2023 forward.  Many people here report the same issue as recently as this month.

In the beginning of this debacle, one could go to "manage data" and see everything there, but with the newest update that is also gone.

I own 13 Google devices and I have to tell you, Google's response to this issue is very disappointing. I'm in the process of switching everything over to Amazon's home products because Google just does not care about it's consumer base.

Please fix this.

Yes, the data is still not presented in the graph, the way it used to be. When all is selected, i only see the average of a year. And not the values of that year plotted in the graph.

I still have all my data in Fitbit, from 2015 onwards. My issue is the average value per year.

Yes all data is still missing and not showing up...

Still not correct. Fitbit customers are no longer important I guess. What
should be an easy fix has drawn on forever.

Yes! I am still experiencing this issue in the FitBit app. It won't show data further back than January 2023 for me. I used a separate app that could access my FitBit data, and that app pulled up everything from the beginning of my use of FitBit, so I know you have the data still.

Hi everyone! Thanks for getting back to us and for your comments.

Please follow these steps and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. Open the Fitbit App.
  2. Scroll down and tab on the Weight tile.
  3. At the top, scroll to the right and select "All time".
  4. Observer whether all years of expected weight data appear.
  5. If previous year's weight data doesn't appear, complete the following steps:
    1. Tap on "Year"
    2. Tap on the left arrow to manually select the previous years .(i.e. 2024, 2023, etc.) going back to their first year of weight data
  6. Tap on "All time" and observe if all previous years of weight data appear

Let me know how it goes.

@AndreaFitbit

No. This doesn't work. If this worked, there wouldn't be a whole thread full of angry people asking about where the data went.

This is not an issue of user error or not understand app functionality. The app is broken.

THE. APP. IS. BROKEN.

Your prompt attention to this is appreciated.

Oh, that's a surprise. It kind of worked. It pulled up data as far back as
January 2017, and now the "All time" graph starts there even though it
didn't before I followed your instructions. However FitBit has data for me
starting May 2013. Your instructions don't help me access 2016 or earlier.

Very jealous, I would settle for January 2017! I have been logging since 2013 and can only access data from October 2023 and later.

Hi @AndreaFitbit ,

Thanks for chiming into this thread. In my case, I've been able to get all of my data restored using your suggested workaround. But there are serious issues that still remain with the Weight function. I mentioned these earlier in this thread.

Issue #1: The 3 Months, Year and All time views seem to just show averages, not all of the daily data points. It was showing correctly in the now-removed View Data option.

Issue #2: Logging weight no longer defaults to the previous weight that was entered. You now need to enter it into a blank field. Minor inconvenience, but it's annoying.

Issue #3: The Year and Month views were unfortunately changed to Year-to-date and Month-to-date. For example, if I want a year view of the data on January 5th it just shows me year to date data, just 5 days. The Year view should show data points from the past 365 days, not year-to-date.

Please continue to keep us updated. As others have asked, why is this thread marked as Answered when it is obvious that issues still persist?

Thank you.
