I only use my Ionic for for sleeping readings and heart rate recording. We all know bluetooth sincing does that well. And I " type " in body weight and fat rating. . For goodness sake I don't to be on line for that nor do I need to show where I spend the night. ( location) Please explane !!

If you are talking about the Location Services message in the Fitbit app, you can find information about why the Fitbit app is prompting you to turn on location services in this article.
Currently, the only way to avoid the pop up request is having Allow Location Access set to 'Always'. These permissions are a requirement for Fitbit to access some features and connect with your phone.

@SunsetRunner android now requires location services to be enabled for your tracker to sync. You will find the the case with every brand of trackers. I also have to enable location services to install smart lights.

None of your fitbit data is stored on your phone @SunsetRunner Everything is stored in the cloud services. this is why you can view your updated data through the app and web
