Why is Fitbit projecting amount of calories burned

My calories burned used to be a reflection of the amount I actively burned, now fitbit is projecting days in advance what my calories burned will be. How do I get it to go back to just show what I have already burned?

Photo below shows that it is already predicting Saturday despite Friday not being finished yet

@mb127   There are several other threads in the Android app forum on this topic.  A moderator commented on one, but I don't remember which one.  This is an Android issue -- I don't see it on my iPhone.  From the screenshots, it looks like the app is giving you credit for your BMR calories in advance.  I think it will need an app update to fix it, but Fitbit never gives a time frame for these things.

I also moved this thread to the Android app forum, a better fit for the issue.

Just a guess: could that (just under 1.6 Kcal) be is your BMR (basal metabolic rate) calorie burn, so it knows that's your minimum, and it will increase throughout the day, just as it looks Friday still might increase today.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

@HorseGirl0607   This is a new bug in the Android version of the app and Fitbit is aware.

@LZeeW has a Fitbit representative publicly acknowledged this? Where can I see it so I can watch for updates? I chatted with support and they had no idea there were any issues and just linked me articles on how to sync my watch and told me to uninstall and reinstall the app, like that's going to fix the issue.

Same thing is going on with me! I have been using the app for 7 years and have had no issues until recently. I realized in the morning that I had way too many calories. I remember putting in my breakfast and lunch and I was already over budget because I hadn't worked out. Now when I put in my breakfast and lunch I still have like a thousand calories left without working out. So I know definitely it is not correct and it and it is also not tracking my programmed workouts only my auto-detected walks. This is so frustrating and annoying. I hope they fix it soon for Android.
