Why's my map so strange?

Hi,

I'm trying the Fitbit Android app, to see how it works before I invest in a fitness wristband.

However, I'm having some problems with the map, where it tracks my movement as I walk or run. Here are a couple of screenshots: http://m.imgur.com/GtVt0HE,wE1c7dT It's drawing a big circle on top of everything, it's hard or sometimes impossible to navigate, and it's crashing quite frequently.

Just wondering if this is normal? I'm not sure what's expected. Maybe there's something wrong with my phone.

Best,

Accepted Solutions

I removed GmsCore from microG, https://microg.org/, from my phone. Then I flashed GApps Pico from http://opengapps.org/ onto the phone. This solved this problem. So I guess it's GmsCore which hasn't implemented one of the Google Play Services APIs yet.

I updated to the latest version, 2.30. However, the problem still persists: http://m.imgur.com/lDQHyMo

@RadPitt That's definitely not expected behavior! What make and model phone are you using? Can you please walk me through the process of starting this activity from the app? Thank you in advance!

I believe it's me who have messed up. I was running MicroG GmsCore, which is a substitute for Google Play Services. When I uninstalled GmsCore, the Fitbit app said that Google Play Services is required for the GPS excerice tracking, so it definitely seems like I'm on the right track. However, I haven't flashed the Google Play Services onto my phone yet, so I'm not 100% sure yet that it's a solution.
