Won't allow me to join challenges.....says I need to add device

.....but I already have my fitbit charge linked to the account & when I go through the steps to add it again, I am told I already have a device linked to the account and asks whether I want to replace it. Should I try doing that & if I do will it lose all my previous data? I'm thinking probably not but would just like to be sure.
Or has anyone else experienced this & been able to sort it out?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @SallyM2. It's great to have you here. This sounds weird. You should be able to join challenges since your Charge has been paired to your account already. I would recommend setting up your Charge as a replacement device. Rest assured, your synced data will remain the same. Additionally, you can find useful information about how challenges work here. Let me know how it goes.
