Won't receive notifications on Versa 2 until I open the Fitbit app every day

I noticed within the last several weeks that I won't receive notifications on my Versa 2 until I open the Fitbit app. This is annoying to do every day. I've restarted my Versa 2 and that didn't help.

@n3biot Thanks for getting back to the community and letting us all know what helped you out with this situation. I also used to use FitToFit. Sometimes I did encounter that my Fitbit app was not running, despite the settings to let it run in the background. I will uninstall that app and check the notifications behaviour from now on. Thanks again, much appreciated.

Hi @SVega  - this may indicate that the Fitbit App isn't running in background like it should for it to transfer notifications.

Check the battery optimization on the phone isn't shutting down Bluetooth or the Fitbit App to save battery.

If the notifications are emails check also that email is not being shut down, because activating the phone may activate emails again.

You can verify this by seeing if the phone is showing notifications for the emails before opening the Fitbit App.

I have the same issue on Samsung s22.

 

Fitbit app optimization settings is disabled in my case since months.

As soon as you open the app you receive notifications including past ones

Hi @n3biot - just in case, did you logout of the Fitbit App and then clear the storage cache and force stop it? Then restart both devices and try again.

It may work for few hours days.but then at some point I won't receive notifications again. 

I think the background Fitbit app is crashing for some reason.  I don't know if we can get logs to troubleshoot 

 

I will try additional battery optimization settings mentioned in https://dontkillmyapp.com/samsung section 'Auto-optimize daily + Adaptive power saving' I will give you feedback in few days

optimization mention above does not help.

I will try to get more information from Android development debugging. services states

after months of issues I managed to get stability again by removing application connected to my Fitbit account : fittofit and Strava. my guess is that for some reason. the Fitbit background app crashed from time to time because of these connection.

 

Since 2 months now I never had the issue again. now I receive all notifications all the time
