bad app

I have an Alta tracker. It works well and I use the PC interface to enter and monitor details. I do this because the tracker will not sync to my mobile. I have synced it to other mobiles, but the other devices had a 'sync now' button icon (like a refresh icon) in the device section of the app. I have downloaded and unistalled the app no less than ten times, and it never installs as it does on other devices. What the HEY? I have tried to sync everyway suggested in forums including using the dongle as the tracker updates with my laptop. Is there another place to download the app other than google play? Is there an alternative app to use independently from the Fitbit app? From these forums I can see that Fitbits are loaded with problems for thousands of people. Thanks.

There are no other sources of the app. Note though that the app doesn't work with all mobiles. A list of mobiles it does work with can be found at www.fitbit.com/devices
