I just got my fit bit charge hr and I was wondering how accurate the calorie burn tends to be. I'm trying to use it to aid with my weight loss and and am just curious what everyone seems to think. Thanks!

Welcome to fitbit!

The calculations fitbit uses are based on average values for people of the same sex, height, weight etc so although they won't be completely accurate for everyone, for the majority I think they are accurate enough for weight management.

I used a weight plan in fitbit to manage my diet a few years and the weight I lost worked out much the same as would be expected according to the calculated calorie deficit (3500 calorie deficit equating to one pound).

Since then, for over 2 years now I have continued to log my food and use fitbit to make sure the weight doesn't go back on. So, it's certainly accurate for me.
