fitbit tracked my walk as 5.6 km but it was 8 km

I am not sure why but my walk kept being tracked by my fitbit as 5.6 km and about 8200 steps so yesterday, I measured my walk and it is actually 8.03 km... I believe it is based on my stride but I am not sure how to adjust it. I am 5'5" and my husband is 6' and logs more steps than me for the very same walk. For example, we did a 10 km walk, he endded up with over 3000 more than me for that distance!

@carleb1, to check your stride length, or to change it to a more accurate number, open Fitbit App Account->Advanced Settings->Stride Length. There you can change if from "Set Automatically" to your measured stride length.
