Unfortunately, the need for location services to be enabled is a requirement that google introduced with Android 6. There's more information on this here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2134/

sorry but no. As I understand it is only to get MAC address, for some reason you need it (others do not).

Still it should be written on your web that GPS has to be on for sync. This is the KEY PART.

I have waste a lot of time due to this (not knowing).

Hopefully you'll be able to return it ok.

My understanding is that the issue is with syncing over bluetooth so look out for this when looking for an alternative.

I did some programming before getting fitbit.
