no modern android compatability.

I am currently running a pair of Lumia 640 LTE phones one with an Alta HR and one with the charge 2 both of which run perfectly. I now need to move to an android platform and was shocked to discover that Fitbit do not support any android phone issued since 2016 other than certain Samsung models.

I have tried the bands with a Huawei P8 Lite but they would not sync and Huawei confirmed this is a known issue with no fix date planned. I have returned the Huawei phones but now find that none of the modern smart phones are supported other than IPhone and Samsung.

Despite only buying the bands 3 months ago the retailer will not accept them back as I am outside the 30 day return period unless they are faulty or not fit for purpose. I contacted Fitbit Customer service to request an email confirming that the Fitbit bands are not compatible with any modern smartphones other than Samsung so I could return them to the retailer or confirmation of what modern phones would work.

Customer services could not list any compatible phone after 2016 other than Samsung and refused to accept that the packaging is misleading by stating it worked with Android. After 40 minutes trying to resolve the issue the customer service rep hung up without warning. This is some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced from any company.

If a phone is not on the list it either means that it has been tested by fitbit and proven not to work, or it could mean that it just has not yet been tested.

If you have a certain phone in mind it's worth posting in the community to get feedback from owners of that phone.

Just sync them to a PC or Mac, that usually works very well..... Fitbit trackers don't sync reliably to any phones, whether they're compatible or not. The mobile apps just aren't very good 😞

That is not universally true - I have an HTC One M9 Android 7.0 phone and it syncs very reliably with all of my Fitbit devices, and it always has. I have a number of friends with various Fitbit devices, and all of them are able to sync their trackers to their smartphone.
