I've search the boards and can't seem to find this exact question, so sorry if it's been asked before or solved.
I have a Fitbit One, which has been going strong since 2015, and after I was finally forced to migrate to Google a few weeks ago & no longer had access to the Fitbit online dashboard, I noticed that my data each day was disappearing from the Fitbit app (v. 4.25.2) the following day. My One is still tracking my steps, floors, and calories each day, and I can sync the data to my tablet (Samsung Android 14) and it updates my battery level. Manual entry of weight and menstrual health also saves in the app. I do not own a smartphone, so the app is installed on my tablet.
So basically, I can sync data each day & see today's steps, distance, calorie burn, etc., but tomorrow, when I go back to look at today's data, it will be gone. Steps will be missing, no distance recorded, and only a generic calorie burn. This has been happening since at least August 27, the first day in the app that shows no data for me. I've done all the solutions requested - multiple resets of my Fitbit One, uninstalled & reinstalled the app multiple times, and also turned Bluetooth on & off, but nothing makes yesterday's data (or all the days since August 27) reappear.
Interestingly enough, my One is connected to another site where I'm part of a fitness challenge and at least 3 days since August 27 did sync to that site even though the data is still not visible in the Fitbit app. However, it's quite frustrating b/c I'm registered for this challenge, and it looks like I haven't been active at all in the last month b/c of the issues with the Fitbit app.
Yesterday, a new issue happened for the first time ever for me (which might need to be a new topic): Steps disappeared from the tracker AND the app. Before I went out for a walk yesterday morning, I had only 300 steps so far that day. After my 5 mile walk, my tracker reported about 11K steps so far that day. I was super-excited about it b/c I haven't been able to get much activity lately. When I got home and synced my data to the app, the little graph swooped up & down, I got confetti for meeting my goal, and it showed 11K steps. A few seconds later, it went back down to the 300-ish that I had before I even started my walk. Then when I looked at the tracker itself, it also went back down to 300-ish. So yesterday, instead of having maybe 13K steps, I ended up with less than 2000. How disappointing!
I've chatted with Fitbit reps through the Facebook page multiple times - always responsive, some are helpful, some not so much - but I'm very frustrated that there hasn't yet been a solution to this issue. One rep told me there is an expected update to app version 4.26 on or around September 26, and I'm so hoping that is the case, but I will not hold my breath. I've been a Fitbit user for almost 10 years now and it helped keep me motivated to maintain a weight loss of 100 lbs. I'm upset at the idea of having to start all over with another company & device - I love the One b/c it has a clip and are hesitant about the Inspire b/c of all the reported issues - but like others have been saying, I guess it's time to start looking elsewhere.

Hello @k_dub
As the Fitbit support agent told you, there have been issues on the Fitbit side that affect data syncing, data discrepancies, including step tracking and exercise data syncing between the Fitbit device and the app.
I'm hoping that the information one of the agents gave is correct and we'll get an app update next week that will resolve most if not all the current problems. The fixes can't come soon enough for all of us.

Hi @k_dub
FWIW, I've seen at least one other user share that Support told them there would be an app update rolling out starting 26 Sep. We'll both be anxiously awaiting that update and associated fixes. 🤞

I noticed the app update to version 4.26 earlier this week. I uninstalled version 4.25.2 and installed version 4.26 and reset my tracker. No change for me. Still shows no steps for the entire month of September even though my tracker records steps daily. Last recorded steps for me still shows August.

@k_dub @RiekoC I have a Fitbit One and my Android version of the Fitbit app is 4.26.1. (Not sure when it came out as I have my phone set up to auto update.) It didn't fix anything for me. Stats disappearing every day since 8/27 even though the tracker syncs with the phone and registers steps correctly throughout the day. However, the data is getting stored somewhere, because when I get the weekly Fitbit email, it shows steps daily, and they appear to be reasonably correct. Just from perusing the message boards in here, it appears that most users of the newer trackers have had their issues resolved. This is my second One since I joined Fitbit in 2013, and I hate to think it is finally dead. It is an amazing device that has no peer.

Hi, @penny26! After finally signing up to get the weekly Fitbit email to see what this issue looks like for me, it appears that the total steps for the week is shown and it shows my "best day" as Saturday (which is correct as I walked a 10K event) but there are no steps counts under all the other days. Like you, I have a Fitbit One, so from what you say in your message above, your weekly email IS showing a step count for each day, not just a total for the week or a "best day?" I'm still using a Fitbit One from 2015, and you're right: It is an amazing device and no substitute for it anywhere. I am hoping this gets resolved b/c I also don't want to think it's finally dead although technically it's not b/c the device works; the app doesn't seem to be for this device.

Hi, @k_dub! Sorry for the confusion. My weekly email looks like yours (but with many fewer steps, lol!) Mine shows the actual step count only on the best day. I use the circles to guesstimate the other days. My goal is 6,000 steps a day, so I believe a half circle represents ~3,000 steps for me and so on. Definitely not precise, but if I think back on the activity for the day, it appears reasonable. At least they are not all zero, they are different day to day, and they have an actual count for the best day. It keeps my hope alive that if this ever gets figured out, our historical data is not lost and can be restored. And you are correct, the devices are still working. Also, it appears that One users with the IOS app are having exactly the same issues as One users on Android.
Congrats on the 10K, well done!

Same thing for me with a One. Sigh. No fix, yet.

It's almost like they are trying to drive the last One users to buy something else. But there really is no good equivalent.

@Kj10, Totally agree. There's no way Google can't find a solution to this. It's been over a month now and all we here is that their team is looking into it. It's extremely frustrating b/c I have my device connected to another site for a fitness challenge. The whole month of September is blank. When I download my data from Fitbit, it's in json format, which is fine, but I can't get an answer from a Google or Fitbit rep to tell me the unit of measurement for distance. The Google rep said they opened a case for me, but it's been a week since I reported the issue & requested help. Very frustrating!
Anyway, I still have my One and the device itself is recording & syncing daily, but I have other reasons I need the Fitbit app to work for me, so I finally jumped over to Garmin & purchased a device from there.

@Kj10 I agree, definitely no good equivalent at all. There are many more One users than I would have suspected based on the forum posts since everything went haywire.

@k_dub Yes, you have to wonder about the IT priorities and capabilities as far as this issue. The API was definitely broken, and was supposedly fixed more than two weeks ago, but the issues persist. And if you view the developer forums, developers whose systems use the Fitbit API continue to report intermittent problems as well. And there have been multiple updates to the phone apps over the last month, which indicates that they are doing something. I am now on Android version 4.27 of the Fitbit app, and it hasn't fixed anything for me, I suspect they fix one thing and break another. (I am retired IT.)
I assume your Garmin device is a watch? If you managed to find a clip on that you like, I would be very interested!

I realize they are trying to get people over to the Google App and away from the native FitBit App but the bugs in a dedicated app do not bode well for something larger and more encompassing.
And I really want to stay with a tracker that does its job in my pocket and not on my wrist. I already have a nice watch and I don't want a clunky tracker that doubles as the same.
